Water and Wastewater Engineer Engineering Technician

Reports to

Project Manager

Responsibilities

Performs assignments requiring knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facilities operations and design.. Has experience with the permitting process of water and wastewater treatment facilities and has completed engineering reports supporting permit application packages. Adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Assists in the preparation of permit applications, engineering reports and construction plans, specifications, engineering calculations, computer modeling, supporting documents and permit applications. Is able to apply this specialized knowledge to the design of the various aspects of water and wastewater treatment facilties Assists in the preparation of engineering calculations of pumping, water and wastewater systems, cost estimates and other supporting documentation for public and private projects. Performs plans drafting using CADD software. May direct the work of Drafters and Technicians. Exercises judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

Education

Graduate from an technical program, A.A. Or A.S. Degree preferred and 0 to 4 years of experience in performance of these responsibilities.
